Have heard that Plusnet are now offering an AV product with either their Broadband or Phone (or both) packages.
Anyone know what product it is though?
Doesn't appear to be any info about it on their website.

Looks like it is a McAfee product.

Looks like it is a McAfee product. Sucks. See this site. Been well down the ratings for years.

It is indeed McAfee, marketed as Plusnet Protect

I was entitled to it free of charge so tried it for a while but it was too slow and intrusive, so I got rid of it and went back to Microsoft Security Essentials. It is also very hard to get rid of every last remnant of it, I think I still have remnants of the browser add-on thingy on one machine.

I think they have a removal tool now, ala Norton, but I'm not sure. At one time you couldn't delete it. It would restore at the next reboot!.
Its detection rates in the tests are pathetic though, that's my main objection to it.

FYI we do have more information on our website about Plusnet protect here: http://www.plus.net/support/security/spam/plusnet_pr...
Otherwise let me know if anyone has any specific questions about it.

Yeah thanks, wow, of all choices Macafee, i've personally used KIS for years and wouldn't contemplate using Macafee in a million years for obvious reasons. Was a friend new to Plusnet that told me they caught a glimpse of this offer but couldn't remember what AV it was.
Free KIS and KMS still available to Barclays customers don't forget. I'm not a fan of Barclays either but free Kaspersky is free Kaspersky
