Been noticing a few issues with my FTTC connection. I could be browsing quite normally then all access to pages will stop. It will come back after a few minutes.
Anyone know what might be causing or have similar problems?
Conor
There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation BQM
Your VDSL modem is probably overheating - very common problem.
Either mount it vertically (as if fixing it to the wall) or raise it off the desk/table/floor so air can get underneath. If it continues to happen, raise a fault with plusnet who will arrange for it to be replaced (needs an engineer visit).
I have propped up the VDSL modem and it seems to work okay for a while but this morning I tried again and it hung for about 5 minutes.
I have raised a call 51596716.
Could some one have a look please?
You may be unaware Open Reach are exchanging all VDSL Modems supplied prior to August 2011, irrespective of whom the FTTC ISP is, due to the alleged overheating issue. You should get a letter with a Booking Number for an Engineer. Mine was done on 30/January and Booking Lead-Time was 3-Days. Took the Engineer 10-minutes, if that.
