As title, girlfriend moving to an area where BTW is the sole provider so need an ISP with a large data allowance.

Very happy with mine - been with them for about 6 years. IS the exchange 21CN WBC?
If it is you'll get good speeds. My line is around 2.2km long and still get speeds shown:

I'm also very happy with PN.
Speeds pretty consistent.

I'd still recommend them. Customer Service has always been 1st class, the Reps are always in here and also on their own forums and will often check on tickets for you if you ask them nicely

It's pretty lousy off it .
More seriously, what do you call a "large data allowance"? According to your sig you have 50GB yourself.

On a 30dB line and getting pings of mid 20s here. About 2km line length I think. Not sure if that's a good network or not. See all my BB data in my sig or profile.

Yeah greater than 50gb I would class as large, especially on the BTW wholesale network. Unlimited doesn't really exist any more does it? I've always been metered.

So Extra should be OK. Depending on what she/you intend doing on it though it may need the "Pro" addon, to get past the traffic management, but that can be turned on later and is only a monthly contract feature. I've a couple more tips on this page.
If it's a Market 1 exchange, which it probably is, make sure you look at the prices after the initial period as well as the headline ones.

Streaming Netflix... I take it there's no truly unlimited offering?

On Plusnet? Not in peak time, but there is an unlimited overnight period. Or do you mean for you or other ISPs for g/f?

The only unlimited option I have seen using non LLU is from Goscomb.net but that would set you back £100 a month!
They also do a 120GB option for £40 a month.

If people have to have unlimited, then BT Total is about the last option at a reasonable price and performance where no LLU options are available

I am happy with Plusnet - very good speed with ADSL2+ and of course no capped, no usage allowance between midnight and 8am 7 days a week and it much cheaper!
