While I'm a big fan of Plusnet and been with them for a couple of years - I don't see much in the way of progress from them in the way of increases in usage caps.
With a big family, 60GB a month is a struggle to keep within and I end up having to block youtube et al in the router towards the end of each month to stop from going over (into £1 a Gig territory).
Surely by now we could be offered a 90GB product at a reasonable cost?

The product review normally takes place in the first half of the year and from posts on the Plusnet forums I am sure that they will be looking at usage limits

Can you remember why they got rid of the "Unlimited" and 80GB packages for the masses?
Did that occur before the upgrading of exchanges to 21CN?

I would think it is because they were taken over by BT. From what I have read, they will offer unlimited if you ask to leave, but at BT prices. I suppose that they could not be seen to offer the same as BT at a much lower price, as it would pay BT to shut them down.

That may have had something to do with it but as far as I know they never said

Does seem daft to up the speed but not the allowance, but then again there are at least some controls and the checker does permit you to keep track of your useage.
Don't forget midnight to 8am is uncapped.

It suits PN if people do go into the £1 a Gig territory.

With madasafish it's a £2 rip off for one GB of extra usage, in fairness it cost that before BT bought maaf from Brightview .......
wonder why PN haven't reduced it to £1 for 1GB

wonder why PN haven't reduced it to £1 for 1GB Whereas Plusnet is £5 for 1GB of extra usage. Fair enough, the next four are included, but tough luck if you only need 600MB.

I'd like my 10Gb upped to 15Gb - to make me feel comfortable when I go over 6!
Maybe the product review could include some hotspot data. That would be a bonus.

An extra tenner? I don't know.. Point is 60GB is their upper limit, they don't give you the choice of paying a bit extra other than the penalty charge (which would be £30 extra for the extra 30GB) - so an extra tenner seems fair to me..

I would need to look into the PN website but I think I read a post by Oldjim mentioning that there was an option for PN users to have their connection throttled down (until month end) instead of having to pay the £5 for 5Gb extra usage.
As usual with PN there is no such option for maaf users.
