moving house

I'm currently on plusnet for broadband and BT for phone.

I am moving soon (to a house on the same exchange). BT say that the house I am moving to has a non BT line and want to charge £130 to get an engineer in and convert it back to BT. They will wave this charge if I move to thier broadband.

I don't want to move from plusnet if I can help it and I want to keep my phone number. Are there any other options? Could I get around this my taking phone and broadband from plusnet at the new house?

We can supply a new line for £50, but that won't involve any contract period (apart from 10 days' notice should you wish to leave).

If you call our support team on 0800 432 0200 and choose the moving house option they'll be happy to advise the full costs of moving and whether or not we'd be able to offer you any incentives - they'll be able to check over your account and let you know.
