Something odd here - changing the DNS servers to Plusnet and I couldn't get any site
Changed back to 8.8.8.8 and I could get all sites except Plusnet related ones then Windows 7 showed internet access lost (XP computer seemed to be OK) then it all came back

We've seen some dropped sessions on a couple of gateways that may be causing connection issues. We're looking further into it.

Hi all,

We've raised a problem(73411) and posted a service status.

If you are having trouble either browsing websites or connecting then try logging into your router and disconnecting and then connect.

I'll post an update as soon as we have one.

We had an issue with one a couple of our edge routers that affected some customers access getting online or browsing internet content.

This was resolved yesterday afternoon and all should now be fine, updated service status was also posted

I don't trust more recent versions of Windows (any since XP) to be honest when they suggest internet access is 'down'. I'm fairly sure the 'test' such as it is, is to attempt to do DNS checks so if there's some minor problem (timeout, or whatever) then Windows reports 'no connection'.

They have added 'bells and whistles' but that one really doesn't seem reliable enough as a 'test'.

I've had more drops than normal over the last few days, but still able to access most sites when my connection comes back up.

There's been a lot of hacking to forums lately and some sites I use are down, but I don't think Plusnet has been affected.
