PN Phone Charges 0844 0871 etc

I am on the PN Anytime service and have searched all over to find call charges for 0844 and 0871 numbers. I believe 0870 and 0845 are free. Can anyone help?

I would be cautious on the 0870 ones. The 0845 ones are fine.

Other way round if anything - more providers include 0870 in bundles than 0845, because Ofcom removed revenue sharing from 0870 but not 0845. Plusnet includes both in their inclusive packages (although possibly not some legacy packages). But in any case, the query was about 0844 and 0871 which are completely different animals!

Sky, for instance, do not include 0845 in inclusive calls, whereas 0870 is included. Most customers seem to think this is Sky being mean, as historically 0845 was cheaper to call than 0870, whereas in fact it does cost Sky more to connect 0845 calls.

Making 0845 more expensive than 0870 is a dog's dinner decision by Ofcom, really.

Thanks for your replies and I apologise for my delay in acknowledging them. I am however still none the wiser.

The number was 0844 879 8289 for a Thomas Cook holiday discount via Santander Bank. I gave it a go, blind, but was not prepared to hang on at an unspecified charge.

It really annoys me that you have to pay for a call to somebody who is trying to sell you something.

In the end I went on line to Holiday Supermarket and got an awesome deal with Thomson for £700 less! Remember though before getting a final quote clear your cookies and log back in again or they will put the price up again!

Hope the holiday is OK because last time I was there the local villains machine gunned three people in the shop below my balcony and missed the drug baron having his haircut! Wonder how airport security will react to a bullet proof jacket.......

The hard bit is finding the tariff code. You can look it up here, which makes it a g6. Then look that up in Plusnet's tariffs, which is 5.11p per minute, plus the connection charge.
