Sorry guys. It's another speed question ( ...yawn ...)

Been with pn (not fibre) for two weeks. Just installed a replacement TG582n router, supplied by pn because of continued dropouts on the previous one.

Speed so far seems almost identical to what I was receiving before from the infamous bt, approx 3.7mb.

I appreciate that it's still settling down. But am I right in my belief that as it's using the same bt wiring I'm not going to see any improvement from that?

Any thoughts would be welcomed (without acronyms please, because they are all reverse Polish to me.).

Correct. All other things being equal, there should be no difference in the speed you get from BT retail and the speed you get from Plusnet.

Post your router stats so we can tell if you are getting what you should.

Doesn't PN have its own back-haul network? If so, altho' connection speeds may be unchanged, throughput and routing may be diff.

PN uses BTW's WBC network for backhaul. So probably not that different.

Thanks for your thoughts,guys. It seems as I had feared. Will leave it there pending fibre, housemove or whatever, as I fear that chat about backhaul etc doesn't light my candle.
