Maybe this thread has something to do with it.

But referral links aren't allowed on these forums anyway tongue smile.
Advertising

We do not allow users to post advertisements or commercial solicitations on our forums. This includes touting one's own equipment for sale. Advertisers wishing to take advantage of our site are welcome to contact us for banner ads. However, we do not have a problem with users posting links to their web sites in signatures, or posts provided their posts are materially useful and are not simply seeking to promote their products (e.g. recommending themselves for every query). Generally we are less tolerant of posters who do have commercial signatures when it comes to what is and is not abuse. We are less strict on ISPs posting in their own forums. Note that the restriction on advertising includes linking to schemes where you receive a commission or benefit of some kind from a user signing up.

Ok thanks for reply , didn't realise that and just assumed that was what others were doing on here with their signatures.

I dread to think what signatures would be like if it were allowed!

No referrals permitted sorry, and as we do not edit a post, it is as you posted.or it gets binned.

All your posts with links have entered the netherworld.smile

Presumably, if you had a referral link for me in your signature, and I had a referral link for you in my signature we'd both be OK? laugh

Don't disappear though. Nothing criminal about it, but I do always read forum rules when I join a new one tongue.

When you have a few minutes I hope you'll find it amusing, as I did before I replied at the start, that someone should be asking why a referral link in their sig didn't work, when it isn't allowed anyway.

As I expect you use it elsewhere, I hope my initial reply helped?

Maybe this thread has something to do with it.

Though I was very careful to ensure there was nothing in what I posted which could be considered promotional for my benefit, just asking if the web page was wrong, and that was confirmed...

It's one thing to point a finger, but quite another when it is not justified mad

/me passes you the right end of the stick.

I linked him to there as a possible explanation for his referral link not working. Nothing whatsoever to do with the rules about referral links on these forums.

Having given him that link, I then pointed out to him he wasn't allowed to have a referral link here anyway. No finger pointing at you whatsoever. I believed and still do that wherever your non-functioning link is, it isn't here smile.

No big deal...and I did say sorry.smile This is an independent site, the adds you see help to keep it that way, and we like to think that opinions given on the forums are not financially motivated.

Posts reinstated?....now that would come at a price.tongue
