FTTC slowed down a bt

Just been on the phone and raised a ticket. He says the diagnostics reports a fault. Strange as my connection was 67/18 on install last week and now dropped to 55-7/10-13. Pings also increased to the 30's. Been reading about DLM. Could it be that is also causing issues?

Seems OK with no disconnects (other than those I did to see if I could sync higher).

Slightly puzzled.

EDIT: Just read through this thread on DLM. What a stupid way of doing things! Resetting the IPP should be down to the ISP not silly BT Openreach on an engineer request!

Sounds like DLM has slowed down line and added extra interleaving

If its DLM then resetting the IP Profile will do nothing for you at all.

My ping dropped on Monday so I reset the modem. Back up to 65/17 or thereabouts. Not quite as high as initially but maybe it will improve within a week or two. Still waiting on fault report as they said there is a fault on the line.

Sorry to jump in here, rather than start a new thread - I'm getting something similar.

When I was initially connected, I was getting 73mb down. As of this week, I can only now get 61mb. Pings seem to remain the same and I'm being told no fault found by Plusnet.

So what's caused the 12mb drop? Bit annoying really.

Can you try the TBB speed test and see what the result is then?

I find the speedtest.net servers vary more in results, TBB is abit more consistent.

Is it just the 3 days its been on 61Mb? might be worth trying a different gateway by restarting the router.

I don't know when the speeds dropped down to 60-odd, I hadn't done any speed tests for a few months - but it's certainly been down for a few weeks.

The Openreach router has been rebooted several times. How do I try a different gateway?
