Got Fibre Today :)

So Engineer turned up at 9.30 with a thick Irish accent. Showed him where I wanted it 5 mins later he's done.

What!!! lol I thought it had to be installed on the master socket not just a socket which gets replaced - hehe thought it was a big job damn how wrong I was.

anyway he tested it then the phone line all dine.

Couldn't authenticate but that was because plusnet hadn't activated it yet on there end - now all sorted

So basically i'm saying damn well done. I know most posts are moans but i'll add a positive one.

Getting over 65mbps down now - ONLY a small increase over my 3.5mbps before haha like 15 times faster.

Now hopefully in a few weeks my phone line gets transferred to plusnet.

As a rough guess(if you know where your cabinet is) you can measure the distance between your property and the cabinet using Google Maps. Click the "Maps Labs" link to get the distance measurement tool(it's by the Google copyright at the bottom left of the screen).

My line turns right instead of left when it leaves the exchange and goes on a detour before reaching my cab which is just 30m away from house

But none of that matters for fibre, 200m, 2200m, makes no difference. You're not saying that the line length to the cabinet 30m away is 2200m are you?
