I'm moving into a new house with an inactive phoneline.
How long does it typically take from start to finish to complete an FTTC order?

Varies according to the part of UK, i.e. how busy local engineers are.
Ordering a sim provide? Or phone and the the FTTC (the later is the slower route).
Would suggest a ball park 2 to 3 weeks.

Rather than make another thread, I'll just post my other question here.
The main telephone point appears to be in the garage, theres is an internal extension to the upstairs lounge, what will happen in this situation?

If you just order and say nothing, FTTC installed in the garage.
If you ask for Home Wiring Solution when ordering, you can have openreach modem located on a dedicated extension up to 30m from the master socket

Yes, it is, get on the phone to them straight away.

Yes it is. Ring them up and tell them the order number and get it added to it. It's free, but if you don't order it the engineer won't have it on his job sheet.
