Your last post said "I am a happy man again !" - I guess it didn't last.

whatever !
I left because since all my problems started I have not had one clear answer.
I left because their support system is flawed where they expect you to raise questions using their online portal but no bothers to answer them except automated messages. You speak to a CS advisor but there is no consistency, they tell you different things but no answers. It is like speaking to BT
£17.50 to leave is nothing so I am happy, just waiting for my MAC code so dont make this a personal attack you fool.

I don't quite understand how they have done that.
Asking for a MAC does not guarantee you are leaving, so how can they work out the termination charge? If you "cancelled" your contract, which means the expected leaving date is known, then they could. In which case there is a fair chance a Cease order will have been placed on your broadband. If it has, a MAC cannot be obtained from Openreach.
No-one should ever tell their ISP they are cancelling. Nearly all support staff will take that as stated, not as intended.

Apart from on BE, where setting a cancellation date was a requirement to avoid the "express cancellation fee", but thankfully those days are over.

I paid until the end of the month apparently

Was the ''Termination charge'' levied because you'd cancelled a contract before the agreed ending date >
'' If you or we end your service within the minimum period of your agreement you will have to pay the termination charges set out for each of the services in the relevant service terms by way of compensation to us for ending your service early
. If you have taken a service that does not have a minimum period you will not have to pay termination charges. You can find details of these charges in the price guide.##

Have you received a MAC? With any decent ISP they are given within an hour if done online. Maybe longer if done by phone/ticket request. I seriously wonder if you haven't just given notice to terminate your service.

yeh I got a MAC
I been given assurances the money I paid today is final if I choose to leave
however my exchange is being fttc enabled end of this month and to leave another isp just to get fttc a month later is a difficult decision

I don't understand - why would you need to "leave another isp"?
|
|
|
cost of moving isp then cost of swapping over to fttc

Most if not all ISPs can supply FTTC.
(I am making the assumption that the BT advertising of infinity has influenced you)
