Any PN reps about today?

[link to this post]

Morning, I have an order in for broadband and line rental (switching from BT), but like others my order says that my phone will be sorted 2-3 weeks after my broadband goes live. I would very much like to have this all completed on the same day if at all possible.

Cheers

We can *try* to arrange this, but we'd caveat any simultaneous order with 'this may not work!'

Private message your username over to me and I'll ask one of the guys here to take a look

check mine as well please, I am not best pleased I had to ring after my ticket was left for a day and another rep on the plusnet forum stating yesterday he would manualy fix (and didnt).

I did a call today and my order has now progressed a bit but still no date given. I would appreciate if you can check yourself to make sure its at the stage where I am just waiting for openreach not plusnet.

Hi Chris -

I'm planning a move from BE to PlusNet - phone and broadband.

Bit apprehensive as I know BE don't allow a BE landline without broadband, and if there is a 2 or 3 week gap after broadband is cancelled, I've heard stories of them ceasing the phone line.

Are you guys able to ensure this doesn't happen - or would I be best transferring my landline to a no-contract provider like Post Office Homephone first, so that the normal procedure could be followed?

If you are considering moving your line+calls on a short contract initially then have a read of all the maaf Talk web page links, as Madasafish is "looked after" by Plusnet.

Hi there,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, unfortunately it's not possible for us to arrange both orders to complete on the same day due to it being a migration.

OFCOM regulations also mean we need to allow two weeks for a phone transfer.

In that case, what is the recommended method of approach for someone wanting to migrate to PlusNet from BE - or from any operator who don't allow you to retain their landline without the broadband?

Move the voice fro BE first (line rental to say zen or the P.O 1 month rolling contract) then after that order completes You could then After say 2-weeks Get your MAC and give your months noticed (if still required) and then place your order for both phone & broadband with plusnet, and it wouldn't make any odds if the voice side was migrated after the bb
Failing doing this you could see if there is anything that be can do like allowing the voice to stay active for say 3 weeks after you migrate the bb to plusnet (place the same order for both with plusnet, & hope that they get the voice sorted before BE place the cease on the line , but there is a risk that things my not go as planned

Cheers for the info, guys.

I'm gonna switch my phone line to Madasafish for a month, that looks the smoothest path...

PlusNet chaps - if I go down the route of transferring my landline from BE to Madasafish for a month, is it possible for me to set up my PlusNet order now, so I can take advantage of the £1.99 offer that ends on wednesday?

Not sure ,but i think that the BTwholesale/openreach order systems will only allow 1 order at a time, If you are going to move the phone (voice first ) i'm not sure if this would prevent you placing a bb order until the voice had completed, unless there is a way to do sim provide using different providers (which i doubt is possible) ,

Not sure which offer you are reffering too, but if it requires an order for both Phone and bb to be placed at the same time, than you maybe out of luck with that

Needs confirmation from PN staff but that offer comes with a 24 month contract the way I read it.

Or rather two differently priced 12 month contracts back to back.

It's not very clear is it, so does that mean it's 9.99 for market 1 exchanges for the following 12 months or is it 16.99 and these prices only apply if you take the PN phone line rental, so can you move the phone away after the 1.99 12 month period too, as that isn't explained either with this "new" package.

Looks like it's a knee jerk reaction to lower prices from you know who.

I have no idea about Market 1 exchanges but if you move the phone away afterwards you get hit with a £2.50 per month price hike
