Unfortently I was told the same by PN when I tried to do a Simultaneous provide when I moved. Orginally when I ordered the simultaneous provide I was told an instal date of the 3rd Feb - two days after placing the order I was told the line was to be ceased and that a simulatanious provide could not occur.
I moved last Friday, and the telephone line was activated on Friday (paying the extra £50 activation). Unfortently was orginally told by PN they would automatically re-place the fibre order on the Friday. When I called on the following Monday to chase this up I was old its sitting with the provides team, then about 5 mins after ending the call I got a text message saying my fibre order has now been placed and I will be given a instalisation date in 24 hours (which to me says PN never actually ordered the fibre until I called to chase them!).
Two days later on Wednesday I called PN again as it had been 48 hours since recieving the text message, and was finally able to get an instal date of the 13th of Feb while on the phone.
I know PN currently are having capacity problems with their service desk, but having to call up 3 times just to get place fibre order I am not surprised there are long wait times.
From what I can see on the plus net forms a lot of people are having delays with fibre installs (I just hope I dont get a 'no show' from BT Openreach) !
