How lon to update line profile?

I bought the Billion BiPAC 7800DXL and decided to tweak my SNR to see what results I could gain. On the first attempt (at about 10am today), my connection speed has gone from 13456kbps to 16200kbps but my profile on the PlusNet Portal is still showing line speed as 12mb.

How long does it take for PlusNet to update mu line speed?

Has your BT IP Profile risen as expected?

It probably has, but best if you know it .

BT Performance Test. You can normally ignore the red instructions. Also ignore the first results page or perhaps note the ping time. Click the Further diagnostics button at the bottom of that and give the phone number when requested.

IP Profile is in the text box of downstream results.

Thanks. Haven't used it in sooooo long that I'd forgotten the address. Didn't it used to be something like speedtester.bt.com?

Yes it did. This new one is better for a straight speed test, and I believe may even work on full(?) LLU. The Further diagnostics don't work on any LLU of course.

Download speedachieved during the test was - 8.09 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4 Mbps-21 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 14.18 Mbps

Download speed almost certainly low due to me using TeamViewer to connect to my home PC to run the test from work! That's besides the point as it shows my IP Profile to be 14.18Mbps.

Would you expect it to be higher given that I've been connected stably at 16000kbps since 10am this morning with no disconnects and barely any errors?

Multiply your sync rate by 0.882 to get the profile. So 14.18 sounds pretty accurate on the sync you've got.

No, that IP Profile is fine. In fact, in your OP you said 16200kbps. I'd put it nearer 16077kbps.

Plusnet Line speed from that should be 14Mbps I think. It updates 2-3 times a day I believe, but a phone call if it hasn't by the time you get home should be all you need to do.

Just did a speedtest and got 13.88Mbps which is an increase of 3meg since this am so I'm a happy bunny
