New to PN unlimited FTTC, two week wait for installation

I've just signed my son up for unlimited FTTC with PN (I'm already on that), and installation is set for two weeks time. Seems like a longer than usual delay?

If it is new FTTC (rather than ISP migration) then it needs engineer work and I dare say they are busy with some of the current flooding issues fixing lines.

Ah yes good point, plus there's a fair few offers for fibre around now so they are probably busy on that too.

This is a new installation, although the flat has a BT master socket, signed up last night and phone activated today, I know it needs the new VDSL face plate and modem installation by an engineer visit. Just us being impatient - two weeks is a long time to have no internet over there (at his flat).... To make matters worse, mobile reception isn't too good either frown

My brother moved in to a new house between xmas and new year. They were with BT and used BT o move their line to the new place. Were given a date middle of Jan then got delayed another 2 weeks for an unknown reason. So, 2 weeks isn't too bad. Got them around the Internet issue by lending them my 3 dongle which was enough whilst they waited (actually the 3G connection is a little faster than their ADSL now is at the new house!).

Mine was 3 weeks before all the weather problems.

OK, we're lucky then, assuming that date gets confirmed and the engineer turns up!

My first try at going FTTC was ruined by a no-show. I'd assumed the date would be good and had cancelled the cable for two weeks after to allow a little leeway. It was a no show and the new date was three weeks on. I cancelled the FTTC and took a deal from VM. Once the new minimum term was up I ordered FTTC again but didn't cancel the cable. That one was done on the agreed date.

Phone now active, that happened day 1, but we're still awaiting confirmation of engineer visit for the fibre installation... how difficult can it be?

Phone is activated first then broadband a week after that. That's pretty normal stage by Plusnet for phone & broadband take up to 2 weeks.
