FTTC - Exchange Throughput Cap?

[link to this post]

Hello,

Just wondering I've moved into a new property and subscribed to PlusNET Unlimited Fibre. My sync is up at 50-52mb and my profile shows the same, although the throughput on the line is limited to 35-36mb on various speedtests at various times of the day in various circumstances.

When talking to PlusNET support not so long ago they mentioned there was a hard cap to the throughput at exchange level and I am wondering whether this is a PlusNET limit or OR/BT WS?

Why i'm suspicious is in my previous property I had FTTC on the same cabinet, same exchange with BT Retail and was able to reach the the peak of my profile speeds.

Cheers
Matt.

What's the BT IP Profile and what's the Plusnet Current line speed?

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 59.4/14.4Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Hi mabibby,

Have you performed these tests connected via Ethernet or wireless?
