Hey pcoventry76,

There's no reason why you can't have 3 lines at your property with 3 different accounts. You will need to pay £49.99 for each new line that's installed. When you sign up the other accounts just make sure you're not giving us any details of your existing line and opt to specifically have a new line installed.

It shouldn't be a problem smile

Linn why did plusnet say no that I cannot have 2 x FTTC at my property? Can Openreach installed new line (master socket) not extension line as I know extension line will be end up FTTC Impacted problems.

Do you mean you want a new separate cable run rather than using a spare pair on existing cable?

BT can refuse to install a new cable to a residential premise or could quote an obscene amount for doing it. This is because they are only required to provide one line - anything more BT can charge their full costs for provision.

Nothing there about supplying or installing new lines max. It's all about wiring within premises, and possibly fault diagnosis.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 56.6/14.1Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

I think I got three master sockets in my house by BT and one by Virgin Media.

1) Hallway Master Socket (FTTC and Phone in use) (grey cable behind it) Engineer install Fibre on this socket by proper Openreach Engineer in February 2014
2) Living Room Master Socket (no dial tone) (no grey cable)
3) Bedroom 1 Master Socket (no dial tone) (no grey cable)
4) Bedroom 2 Master Socket (belong to virgin media - no dial tone) (cable to end garden)

This ex BT engineer cannot get you an active new phone number on any of those master sockets. Needs the official Openreach people to actually enable another pair of wires within the existing cabling to the property.

This engineer you linked to could then do things like wire you new extensions, or if playing loosely with the rules move an existing master socket.

Yes ex-BTEngineer can do the work. Proof here: http://www.exbtengineers.com/
No, only proof that they can do in-house work only.

BT cannot possibly allow non-employees, non-subcontractors to do work in exchange/cabs.

MrSaffron - I got four sockets as I explain above in my last post. If I want a new line off Plusnet will Plusnet accepting another FTTC on 2nd lines because I did ask them and they say NO! Only one FTTC in household.

This thread has proved I had seriously underestimated the depth of your ignorance on broadband!
