Broadband phonecalls

As a PlusNet newcomer I'm intrigued by the Usage Breakdown option in the Member Centre, specifically the entry entitled "Broadband phonecalls", for which I have apparently recorded some usage.

This suggests to me VoIP, but I have no such capability. Can anybody tell me what it means?

Is this the data usage breakdown?

If so, then it may be that some traffic is being incorrectly tagged in the logs as being VoIP. The identification of traffic type is not 100% accurate and it may get it wrong in a small percentage of situations.

Presumably you don't use Skype, Google Hangouts, MSN Messenger, Apple Facetime, etc?

I would say it would be Apple Fametime, Skype, Facetime Audio, Viber, VOIP landline etc. Otherwise just a mistake and they have mis-categorised some of your data usage. I don't think they have over estimated, they just classify something you are using as VOIP when it's not.

The Usage breakdown I'm referring to is that found by going to https://portal.plus.net/view_my_broadband_usage/inde... , then hitting "Usage Breakdown" (near the bottom of the page).

I use Skype occasionally, but haven't done so during the period I'm looking at, and the Skype software is not loaded.

That was what I suspected. Almost certainly just mis-categorisation - this graph is just provided as a guide and shouldn't be taken as gospel.

Well, I'm not concerned, since I'm on an unlimited contract. Just curious ...
