Asus Routers -Firmware

I noticed in a recent post that quite a few people had Asus routers, I have the AC68U and started out with Merlins firmware but was experiencing quite a few disconnections. On reconnection I would get an IP address starting with 3* or 1**, the connection would then drop again within 12 hours and I would get a 8* IP address.

Since switching to ddwrt I haven't experienced any disconnection issues, has anyone else had similar problems with custom firmware?

Been running Merlins builds on my 66U for months, solid as a rock.

I'm running an AC68U with Merlin 376.45 firmware.
Working really well.

I'm starting to think that the problems I was experiencing were not due to the routers firmware! I think I will stay with the ddwrt version.

Did you do a factory reset? If not that can screw things up.

Yes, it was running ok for a couple of months but then started disconnecting at least once a day. I find it easier to navigate around the ddwrt interface but that could just be because I've used it on a number of previous routers.
