Plusnet get it wrong within minutes of signing up

Not a good start with Plusnet. Just signed up for the phone and fibre deal at 14.99 / month with first 6 months free. Paid £162.86 for advance line rental so as the first 6 months BB is free, that should leave just £0.99p / month for caller display. Back comes an email saying I'll pay 15.98 for the first 6 months!

Opened a support ticket which they say will take at least 10 hours to answer
Are they always this good?

You realise they're just BT under a different brand name?

Different products, prices, support, kit, strategy.

A Skoda is not a VW. A Bentley is not a VW.

Despite the possible wait best to phone CS and get the details sorted for your account, tickets are slow and if you add anything to your ticket before you get a reply it goes further back in the que ...... well it used to do and I doubt that'll have changed been improved.

Hmm....That certainly doesn't look right. This may be an error in your welcome email or the account's been incorrectly set up.

t that's exactly what I'm saying - Plusnet are Skoda to BT's VW.

PN's UK support is Rolls Royce quality when compared to BT's Indian script monkeys. You may have to wait a bit but at least PN's support actually try to help their users.

I realise that Plusnet are owned by BT but they are considerably cheaper for both phone and internet. 6 months free plus £50 cashback seems pretty good so I thought I would give them a try as I can't see any reason why the service should be any worse than what I have already experienced if it all goes through the same BT wholesale route . My problems have always been with Openreach rather than BT broadband and I am stuck with them whoever I go with.

Skoda now produce VFM cars since being taken over by VW. A decent parent company can make a difference.
