Somthing changed - Traffic Shaping??

Has PlusNet announced any changes to their traffic shaping profiles?

For about the last week it seems that usenet is limited to about 1.5 to 2Mb/sec as soon as channel 5 on demand player is used, stopping the on-demand player results in full 8Mb/sec download of usenet traffic again.

It is not the on-demand player taking up 6Mb/sec of usable bandwidth (a monitor shows it peaks at 4Mb/sec to start and then drops to a 900Kb/sec stream) .. so why does the PN system restrict usenet so heavily when clearly there is 6Mb/sec spare capacity on the connection.

Something has changed as it didn't used to do that ...

I'm on 80meg fibre unlimited running at full 80meg sync (or as close to it as possible - what is it something like 79888 ) street cab is about 100m away.

No, there's nothing that I'm aware of that would cause this from our side. We don't rate limit on the Unlimited products.

Does this happen with other on demand players too or just demand 5?
