Upgrade from broadband to broadband and phone Question

I was thinking about upgrading my existing unlimited fibre service to include the phone service. As I was going through the upgrade process I noticed something odd in the section at the top right of the Confirm upgrade page called Broadband speed, and I quote:

Current product 60Mb(down) / 19.5Mb(up)
New product 60Mb(down) / 10Mb(up)

I appreciate the figures quoted are estimates, but why would my upload speed drop as a result of switching my phone service from BT to Plusnet? I can't see why how a change in phone provider would affect my broadband in this way.

As a result I haven't upgraded as I'm not convinced my download speed wont be affected if the drop in upload speed is true

Two points
Those numbers refer to ADSL so you can ignore them
Don't use the on-line upgrade tool - phone Customer Options (Cancellation Number) to see what they will offer as a deal

Moving the phone to PlusNet should not involve any changes to the fibre service you already have. Sounds like a mistake in their portal coding what speed estimates does https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html give you for FTTC.

FTTC Range B Downstream High 70.6 Low 44.6 Upstream High 20 Low 14.1

That tip applies to most companies you're in a contract period with, including TV and mobile phone as well as broadband.
