Seems to be very variable by region, with Manchester apparently being hit particularly badly. See various threads here and at PlusNet; it looks from outside as if PlusNet are trying to sort things but can't see what is wrong.

Still getting immaculate speeds and pings here in Winchester. (Not crowing, just putting things in perspective and adding information that might eventually help PlusNet sort things out.)

Have you tried hopping gateway to see if that helps?

small impact here in West Sussex... all depends on gateway for me...

can honestly say the only thing I do find gets issues is Online Gaming... but that due to variable latency during the congestion periods

I tried hopping, but bng-01 seems to be about the best. Not many lost packets tonight so far though.

I was looking at the network usage graphs earlier today and it looks like the gateways are being run right to the limit and this is no good...

If Plusnet buy a nice new gateway and put a premium subscription on it then I'll be the first to sign up.... say an extra £10 -£15 a month?

there certainly is congestion on plusnet as well as on BTW at some locations the really poor throughput is down to plusnet and the latency increases for me is down to BTW Manchester bras's but plusnet also has some issues of it's own with latency these are still apparent on some lines

I have been with Plusnet for almost 18 months. Moved from BT to Plusnet because I wanted unlimited fibre. Over the past year Plusnet has been getting worse and worse. Internet becomes almost unusable at times. Just perfomed a speed test a few minutes ago. 0.70mps TERRIBLE. I pay top dollar for this? From about 4pm it steadily gets worse. Will no longer recomend Plus_NO_net to anyone. As soon as my contract is up good riddance to their lousy NON-net.
