What happens at 4am

Whatever Plusnet do at 4am, drops my connection and reconnects at a higher min latency. I can gateway hop and get it down, but it suggests to me something isn't right at PN.

Your BQM shows it happening at 10pm yesterday, with presumably you hopping at 10:45 this morning. Then doing a speed test at 10:58.

Edit - did you have a thunderstorm within a few miles last night?

Not last night no.

I think its Plusnet kicking you off the gateway during a maintenance period which will trigger you too move on to another location... this is why the latency increases..

This happens for me too.

Thought it might be.

You have a PM (image of three days BQM, which folk can see if they go via camieabz.co.uk).

In the early hours of Thursday morning, we had terrific thunderstorms, and after one power cut, I decided to unplug all my PC / BB kit and wait it out (the big red bit).

As you can see, the latency rose due to the exchange interpreting it all as bad, so reducing speed (sync is always high, but profile and throughout suffers).

Then at 4am this morning, the latency dropped, so I assume a gateway reset or summat. So at least you know that latency can go down as well as up.
