Plusnet fibre with Youview+

[link to this post]

I have had fibre extra for a couple of years now and using the router Tplink Archer V900 with two homeplugs one for router and two others dotted around house both have twin Ethernet and wireless builtin. I just ordered today youview+ with HD extra. They told me on phone plusnet dont support this routers which is fair enough. They sending me the new router but rather use this one as I only just got it.

I cant find much to say whether it works with plusnet youview other than a review on amazon saying it does with latest firmware which i have.

Can anyone who has youview with plusnet and Vr900 conform it works for me. Router does have IPTV is settings and has built in Vdsl modem

Thanks

It supports G.INP, so it should work as long as you got the latest firmware, but I have read that it don't always work have alook here. It says BT6, but it is the same things as plusnet you view as they both use multicast.

youview dose not require G.INP nor dose it need a router that supports it to work , it uses IGMP and needs a router that support s IGMP v3 snooping to work

Sorry you are right, I have no idea why I said G.INP, I think it may have been because I was chatting to someone not so long before about it. I did mean IGMP.

I got my box today but cant get the premium channels the youview works on net with iplayer. I have homeplugs tplink av500. Plusnet couldnt really help me as they dont support this router we tried a few options but alas to no avail. I can seem to get any help on plusnet forums either. I am now on phone to tplink for help.

Surely some one has this router with youview.

Have you looked in the router settings to make sure IGMP is enabled some routers it's unticked by default and not quite plug and play

Hi I cant find anything like that, I played again with iptv setting as soon as I set that part on internet on the youview box goes down. I turned iptv off which I have done many times before and all of a sudden it works now. I have the channels I think at least many of them have to check.

For some reason though nowtv app will only show sky movies I have a nowtv account which I set up on this box maybe only works with movie part and8 not entertainment pack. I know it dosnt supportt nowtv live but that says so in the app

Any thanks

I had to setup my Billion router for BT Youview this week and the delivery of the channels is almost certainly using the same setup. I don't have a TP Link but a quick google gives this which might help with the config.

Thanks I played with iptv settings on router but when I selected to allow iptv to turn it on on router the youview box just wouldnt connect. I tried it upteen times and switch off router several times and homeplugs and yiuview box. I wonder if plusnet had to allow the box to connect as i gave up and went back to default settings the one i had before I got box and all of a sudden the channels appeared. So for me dont select iptv in router settings.

You need to have a subscription for the Entertainment pack if it's not part of the Youview package. If you already have one, you may need to log into your Nowtv account and make sure your Youview box is listed there.

You can list upto 4 devices on one account. It sounds like you may have two separate accounts? Is it different usernames on each?
