Not that Im complaining, thought I was still on 40/20 product! Have they done away with it?

What does it say here? If you're on 40/20, it should say your current line speed is 40 Mb (or some lower value). If it has a higher value then that is why you are experiencing higher speeds. I would keep quiet about it if I were you - especially don't mention it on any online forums! smile

Do you mean Current line speed, because that's what I was asking. Regardless of whether it is your sync speed or your Plusnet line speed, I fail to see how you are getting download speeds of 71.4 Mbps!

He isn't.

The speed test result is consistent with the 40/20 product with a Plusnet Current Line Speed of 40Mbps. (Which is of course what you are asking him to post).

I think the OP just doesn't know how 40/20 is implemented.

Have you checked the Plusnet Current line speed? (It will ask you to log in then it will go there).

That's 168Mbps. Top on FTTC is 80Mbps.

From the OP:
71.4 Mbps 13.9 Mbps Plusnet

How is this consistent with the 40/20 product?

Because the 40/20 is provided by Openreach 80/20 and capped (if working correctly) to 40 Mbps by the Plusnet Current line speed. That's why it was a non-sustainable product, as they paid Openreach for 80/20 and charged for 40/10.

Because it is the 80/20 OR product it sync's as if sold as 80/20. There is no Openreach 40/20 product.

This is why the CLS figure is required from the OP. It should be 40Mbps. If it is 21Mbps then "summat's oop". As they say in the foreign country immediately to the east of the Pennines.

Yes, I know all that, but I thought what was posted originally was a speed test result.

And I didn't spot the speedtest.net result he gives is in his sig, not the post body blush. We need to see a current one.

At the moment it's completely unclear what the OP is on about.

Yes, we know how 40/20 works.

What we don't know are the answers to our questions to the OP, who we suspect doesn't. Not helped by having a February 2015 speed test in their sig, which confused me at first, and a strange 22 Megabyte file size figure for no apparent reason that can't be a speed even if we add "per second" to it.

I vaguely remember (from when 80Mb/s was originally being trialled) that Plusnet had a 'special' profile (basically unthrottled, no profile restriction at the Plunset end at all), I think (but can't be 100% sure now) that this used to be shown as 21Mb/s in the member centre 'Current Line Speed'.

My mate got 40/20 with plusnet and his current line speed was set at 78Mb as his router but he keeping it quiet himself as Plusnet didn't changed his current line speed for 7 months now. Lucky him.
