CS online chat not available at weekends?

I just went to report a fault via online chat, and see it's unavailable. Is that normal for weekends, or is it just unavailable at this precise moment?

I'm getting extremely low speeds (dial-up standard) and frequent disconnects.

Last night I replaced the microfilter, which produced an immediate speed improvement, so I thought, with a bit of luck, I may have fixed things.

But this morning, although I've NOT reverted to the suspect filter, problems are back. frown

Must've just gone for coffee or something, as they're back now - but the connection dropped actually during the conversation.

Luckily he's raised a ticket anyway!

Also, I think they have tweaked something, as there is an apparent improvement with no visit from BT, nothing. Couldn't possibly have been enough time to fix anything at the exchange, so I wonder what they've been able to touch?

A "question" (what used to be called a ticket) was raised by PN on my behalf today.

I somehow managed to access it earlier, but now, when I click the link provided, it's just defaulting to my payment information, and I can't see any link to view my open questions/tickets.

I hope this doesn't indicate I don't have any, because it's already been closed (no notification to that effect).

If you are logged into your account, try logging out and then try chat while logged out.

For some reason sometimes I can't use chat when I'm logged into my account! Go figure.

Thanks, got the chat thing sorted in the end - think they were just temporarily away/unavailable.

My further question was about how to view my open questions, as the link PN sent me didn't go to the right place. This too now resolved, with the help of Apprentice, who supplied the correct link.

For me "chat" can be available if I'm logged in or out to the PN portal, the problem is there are only a certain number of CS staff working on "chat" so if they are busy "chat" is unavailable till things quieten down.

I've noticed some adblockers can make the "chat online" tab vanish from the portal page whether you are logged in or out.
