New to Plusnet today. Allg Good Fingers crossed

[link to this post]

From Pipex in the early days through O2, then BT, have now moved Line and BB to Plusnet. Line was supposed to move today and BB tommorrow. But both got switched today. Caught Plusnet out, but I rang and got through to a chap at 9am this morning straight away. He switched things on at his end after I installed the plusnet Hub one. Ex Openreach box/HH3, download 1-2 Mb faster, upload 2 mb faster. Pings that were already good are 7ms on Ookla smile. Nothing wrong with BT service, just prices, BT offered a 'special deal' that was still higher than Plusnet once the Discount period expired........ I would have stayed for the new customer only prices. I realise Plusnet owned by BT, quite ironic.

I noticed that another post had some stats out of the Hub one, I cannot find these can I have some pointers please, need to update sig also smile

Re the connection speeds it's possible the DLM has been reset, so on open profile. (Sync as fast as it can). Assuming you don't mess around with it the first time DLM will do anything is tomorrow night.

If it stays faster after that, great smile.

Looks fine, although the speedtest in your sig is obviously misleading

You should do a speedtest now, before DLM kicks in, and then do one in 10 days time wink

There isn't a 10-day period on FTTC, in terms of line training. The BT Wholesale stuff about that, which was garbage on ADSLx, is simply not applicable.

You've never seen speeds like since that because it is simply impossible to get over 80Mbps download, particularly on a BT WHolesale connection.

Re BatBoy's comment about speed testing now, I agree. Also again during the daytime tomorrow. DLM may slug it tomorrow night, as I said previously.

Incidentally, what do you mean is "very misleading"? My previous post?

You have me baffled. Anyway, the one you have there is completely impossible, and would be pointless in a sig even if done yesterday rather than nearly 4 years ago on a different ISP.

You might as well post a photograph of the speedometer of your car showing 63mph.

Well it was real, and not changed as I have hardly posted in the passing few years.

But, to stop causing offence, I have removed it. Have a nice day ! smile

The reported result I don't doubt, but its correctness is another matter. Particularly years ago when the buffering inherent in anti-virus programs could cause an over-reading. Kaspersky was a major cause of such problems. Ludicrously high results were frequent when using it, on any DSL service.
