The price change link doesn't mention it now.

Maybe they have notified by email all the users this will affect, and have now decided to pull it from the price change link.

Surely it time for Plusnet to pull their fingers out and start two products on the site for fibre:
80/20
55/10
Why wait until August for new product 55/10 and what the point of 40/2 sign up because it will cost Plusnet more for Openreach to charge modify order from 40/2 to 55/10 in a month time.

40/2 is not being upgraded or removed. (So far as we know). The removed link re 1 August was quite specific. 40/20 >> 55/10.
This is at least the third time this has been pointed out.

Plusnet are not going to sell 55/10, their staff on the forums have repeated said so. It is only there to get people off the expensive 40/20 service onto a Openreach wholesale product.
So Plusnet will not need to move people from 38/2 as that is the basic product for the future.
If PN customers want 55/10, then BT Retail are there for them.

Do you have a link please, where staff have said they are not going to sell the 55/10 product ?
As far as i am aware , all they have said is users on 40/2 are not going to be moved to 55/10 .
many thanks

Plusnet will gonna to lose more customers now! If they are 40/20 customers PN will probably be glad to see them go.

Isn't that the truth.

When my contract expires in January 2017 will Plusnet then downgrade me to 40/2 from 50/10?
If that is going to happen then I might as well move to BT now.
|
|
|
Unlikely. They would have done it now, rather than go to all the trouble of setting up 55/10 as a product for so few people.
More likely they will offer it as an upgrade to 40/2 customers at some time in the future, but I wouldn't rate that as a high probability.

No you will stay on it as long as you don't negotiate a new contract with Plusnet CS staff and get a discount.
The trick they used on some 40/20 customers was to make the discount part of a deal including a downgrade to 40/2.

Will have to be astute then when the contract comes up for renewal then.

Will have to be astute then when the contract comes up for renewal then. Only if you decide to discuss the subject with them
I just ignored it and have been running on a rolling monthly contract for nearly a year now. Admittedly as an 80/20 user there probably wasn't much in the way of offers for them to make so they never bothered to contact me. If you're on 55/10 when the time comes they might decide to call you in the hope of getting you to whatever the current lower speed package is at that point.

When the contract expires on 28/01/2017 will I be automatically switched to "a rolling monthly contract"?
Really, do not want to find myself committed to Plusnet to a further 24 months.

yes

Yes. If you are already on a retention deal though that will cease and you will pay whatever the full price for line is and the old 40/20 was.

That is good.
I really do not be want to be tied to a long contract as I might be moving home and therefore would not commit to any contract over 12 months.
