Identifying new Plusnet network gateways

So trying to sift through the mass of BQM graphs that we have for PlusNet and filter speed test results, so am wondering if there is a foolproof way of knowing if an IP address is on the new or old networks?

Not really and in case of users with a fixed IP address even we can't tell as the tracert doesn't change

For dynamic IPs you can tracert to the IP. If it's on the old network the last hop before the user's IP will contain the name of a gateway in the format xxx-agn or xxx-agnn or xxx-bng0n where xxx is ptw, ptn or pcl. E.g. link3-central11.pcl-bng03.plus.net. On the new network you will see instead one of the points of presence such as colindale.

Unfortunately users with fixed IPs who are on the new network are tunnelled through to the old network gateways so the presence of one of the old gateways doesn't tell you for certain if they are on old or new.

However, for what you are looking at at present, users on fixed IPs on the new network are seeing most of the issues resolved so just look at the ones on the PoPs.

I have a static IP, and think that this morning I was moved onto the new network.

The second hop after my current (bng01) gateway is irb.11.ptw-cr02.plus.net (84.93.249.18).

I believe that if the name of the second hop begins with 'ir....', that is at least a hint
that one is on the new network.

Speedtest results are very slightly improved.

mtr to 8.8.8.8 gives:
2. lo0.11.central11.ptw-bng01.plus.net
3. irb.11.PTW-CR02.plus.net
4. 72.14.223.32
5. 216.239.56.67
6. 216.239.58.89
7. google-public-dns-a.google.com

I'll run some tests if you want and I can.

Tonight everythings feels really good after 2 weeks or so of really [censored] speeds/connectivity.

IP adress has remained the same also.....

Having "irb" in your second hop name does not appear to be proof. I have that in mine but have been told that I am not yet on the new network.

it's number 2 in the trace that states the gateway and such which network, if your on a dynamic IP then your still on the old network if your on a static one then you could be on either only plusnet would know for sure in that regard.
