I've been suffering over the last week or two with huge packet loss and appalling DNS response - the simplest site will not resolve 2/3 times - below is my my graph - anyone suggest anything!
I'm running a Netgear R8000 running DD_WRT build 30681 - up until recently this has been rock solid, i know the build is recent, but this was updated after the problems stareted happening, just in case it was linked

Is a telephone noisy on a quiet line test? (Dial 17070).

Try turning off the router, and modem if separate, then unplug at both ends including the phone socket(s) all signal and power cables to do with them. Then reconnect them before powering up again. If you have a dangly filter at the phone socket end, take that out and re-insert it as well.
If still as bad, or even if it clears the problem, then gently waggle the cables about and flex them to see if that makes any (even short) difference - testing if any are damaged inside.

There has been a lot of problems on the new network but your graph is very bad, I thought the worse if it was over.
Just noticed a massive latency spike on my own graph but mine has been good for about a week. Hope this gets sorted sooner rather than later

As I'm on a dynamic ip have set my router to not disconnect hoping it holds the same ip so I can track what's happening to my own line

OK just did it this morning as I had to go out last night, however looking at the graph something amazing happened yesterday, we didn't do anything outselves, so all i can think of was something happened because of this post or an engineer was in the box and noticed something amiss.
either way what a difference a day makes!!

Watch out for the problem returning on next Saturday or the one after. In the meantime see if you can guess which neighbours are away.

Never mind, They are now offering it for £5 a month for the first 6 months - so more punters and more problems.
Lovely!
