Current line speed available again?

I don't know how long this has been there, but the page https://www.plus.net/member-centre/broadband has a line "Current Line Speed (Download):" and this appears to be the long lost Plusnet line speed. In my case it is 0.3Mbps below my BRAS profile.

So that's where it's been hiding. I looked down the back of the sofa and everything...

Interestingly, mine's gone up a bit. I had an email from Sam Knows a few days ago, telling me my "white box" hadn't sent any data for a few days, and would I please reboot it?

Which was nice...

Since rebooting the box, the activity lights on my router have calmed down a bit, and my speedtest results have been a bit better than normal, averaging around 55Mbps on TBB test, previously struggled to get to 50Mbps, on a good day, with the wind behind me.

Happy days indeed...

From September 2001 on BTopenworld Home 500/Home 1000/Home 2000. Then ADSLMax on <n>ildram. Moved to ADSL2+ from ADSL24. I'm now with plusnet on FTTC since 28/05/2014 and loving it... I'm not saying who I work for. Any opinions expressed here are my own.

I spotted that about 3 weeks ago and wondered whether to query it with PlusNet as mine says "Current Line Speed (Download): 55Mbps", but as I'm on 80/20 FTTP (trial) with my normal full download speed unaffected I didn't bother.

Perhaps it's just set to some nominal figure for FTTP users.

FTTP 80/20 Mbps

I hadn't noticed it had come back - mine says "Current Line Speed (Download): 12.6Mbps" but I'm currently synced at 14335 so I guess it is giving a figure you might get from a speed test rather than sync speed.
Worryingly it also says "Minimum Guaranteed Speed: 2.5Mbps", so there is little chance of falling below that! I didn't realize that the minimum could be as low as 20% of the usual speed.

We won't need to worry about DLM, Bras Profile and Current Line Speed once FTTP fully roll out by 2030
