Not so. I have been given conflicting advice but thats what I was told today.
Think we should start a new thread about DLM and what it does and how it affects your line.

It is almost certain the Plusnet support person advising you either didn't fully understand the question, (bearing in mind we don't know
verbatim what the question you asked was), or [didn't realise | forgot that] you are on FTTC. On FTTC, disconnecting the router from the modem will make no difference whatsoever to your line, so long as you don't do it every few minutes for a while. (It's possible the BTW DLM might detect an instability and request a more stable setting from the Openreach DLM, but that's pure surmise by me).
The Openreach DLM, as has been said, won't even know about router disconnections.
