okay, once router and everything is connected, open up your web browser and enter this:
http://192.168.0.1/setup.cgi?todo=ping_test&c4_IPAddr=%26%2Fbin%2Fbusybox%20grep%20ppoa_%20%2Ftmp%2Fnvram%20>%20%2Fwww%2Fnetgear.cfg
if you have to replace the ip address then do so. Then enter this into the address bar:
http://192.168.0.1/netgear.cfg
it should bring up a save file prompt. Save it somewhere. Then open it with notepad or something and hey presto there is your login info. Each new subject field is seperated by pppoa.
so you shopuld end up with:
pppoa_username: (yourMACaddressOFrouter)@skydsl
pppoa_password: 1234567aa1
pppoa_idle=0
pppoa_ipaddr=
all credits to jcardoso for supplying it, i just really really really simplified it for us less computer literate peeps.
i do have one question, is it ok to download standard netgear firmware now? at the moment i am using my old [censored] Belkin router, but it is a LOT more stable than the netgear running on [censored] Sky firware. What netgear firmware would you peeps suggest? Latest?
any suggestions welcome, i've already downloaded the latest firmware.
