Slow broadband and disconnections

[link to this post]

Just wondering if anybody knows why the following has happened.

I signed up to the mid package, and i was told that my line could get 2.5 mb connection. When i first set up the sky broadband to my laptop I was surprised that the connection was running at 3.4 mb, this lasted for about 4 days until i moved the wireless box and connected it to my desktop and set up a sky bb on the desktop as well. The connection then drop and runs between 1mb - 1.4 mb. I then moved the wireless box back to the laptop but the connection stayed between 1mb -1.4mb, much less than the 2.5mb i was told i could get.

Also the wireless connection continuously disconnects itself. Some times it does it every few minutes other times it can last for a few days before doing it.

If anybody could explain why it keeps disconnects and how i can get my connection speed up, it would greatly appreciated

First step is to get the stats for your connection and post them here. They are given by the router if you press the "show statistics" button on the web interface. You need the connection speed, line attenuation and noise margin.

Have you got filters on all the phones, faxes and sky boxes you have plugged into the phone line?

Downstream

Connection Speed: 1472 kbps
Line Attenuation: 49.0 db
Noise Margin: 7.2 db

Upstream

Connection Speed: 416 kbps
Line Attenuation: 31.0 db
Noise Margin: 14.0 db

I also have filters on all the phone lines.

Is the above information average and does anybody know if it isnt how to fix my problem?
