Bittorrent ground to a halt?

[link to this post]

Been running Azureus on a Vista 32bit machine running Zonealarm security suite for months. No issues. Not hammering my connection either. Say 5gb in 4 months if that. Last week the speeds dropped off. I changed the Azureus port on router, updated Zonealarm firewall settings to reflect port change and the same in Azureus. Still nothing though. I've heard mutterings on various sites that BT/Sky have throttled this traffic. Could anyone confirm this and are others facing scenario?

I was downloading using uTorrent last night at about 500K/s (before I get lynched it was LOTRO book 13 patch and is 770MB in size).

I think port throttling depends if you are on LLU or Connect, Connect customers get throttled I believe.

No problems here using uTorrent. Have to say though that I did use Azureus in the past with Sky and had no end of problems with it not connecting and slow speeds. Try getting rid of Zonealarm and enabling Windows Firewall (to use for outbound) as you don't really need it because the Sky router (NETGEAR) has a built-in Stateful Packet Inspection firewall.
