Upload speed

[link to this post]

Is any one aware of Sky having plans to increase the upload speed of their broadband packages?

I ask because be/o2 will soon be available in my area with upload speeds of 2.5/1.6Mbps respectively. Sky's 768Kbps will seem a little dated and slow.

Upload speed isn't a factor for most people, which is why companies always quote download speeds for their products when advertising them.

I think it is becoming much more important than it used to be. A lot more people now have websites, bebo, utube, facebook etc

They dont really need upload speed except when you are trying to publish content to them, in which case it will only be a short wait while it uploads.

In my case I run a small web server (just for small images I use on forums etc, nothing heavy) but I do run a VPN into my server from work so i can keep a local copy of files etc so a good fast upload would be nice.

Still, its alot better than I was used to with Tiscali (sync at 348kbps lucky to see 20kbps)
