Test Socket = Better

What is wrong if the sync speed seems to be better through the test socket, when i plug the router in through the normal way, the sync speed is around 16000, but when i plug it in the test socket, it reaches beyond 19000?.

I'd hazard a guess it will be the ring wire causing interference when the normal method is used. When the test/master socket is used, the ring wire is not apart of the system any more.

Yeah just had a look and the ring wire is still attached on the master socket, just checked the one in the front room too and that has all 6 wires connected, the master has 3 wires connected.

Just disconnect the ring wire on the master socket then (assuming you don't have any phones or appliances that need the ring wire connected - most don't these days). That should be all you have to do.

Just removed the ring wire, getting much better through the normal socket now but still not quite as high as through the test socket, getting just over 19000 through the test socket and getting just under 19000 through the normal socket, is this normal?.

EDIT: Just done another sync and it is at 19395 through the normal socket now, so it seems it is performing as good as the test socket, now i've removed the ring wire.
