Moving from O2 to Sky adviced needed?

I am currently on O2 broadband and thinking of going with Sky Broadband and Sky Talk, i am out of contract but what i am asking is do i need to cancel my O2 Broadband? Or do Sky just change it all over?

While Sky will probably not use the MAC, best way to start ball rolling is get the MAC from O2 and pass it onto Sky if they ask for it.

This helps to trigger your notice period with O2, and once you have the Sky Broadband up and running, double check two days later with O2 that they've seen you move broadband to sky and to sort out your final bill.

make sure you confirm back to o2 support that you have left, quoting the MAC code

I'm in the process of switching from o2 home phone and broadband to Sky and Sky have taken care of everything to do with the switch.

Router is on it's way and it switches over next week, painless switch so far.

Mine switches over this friday, glad to hear that it is a painless switch !

When I switched over from O2, it was flawless. I did not have any loss of service at all.

I wasn't so lucky, Sky switched me over in what is probably a record time (2 working days), but the router arrived four days after I was switched so there was plenty of downtime (and of course without the router I couldn't extract my username/password to use a different router).
