Slow Sky Broadband speed

My broadband download speed is only 1.5M but if I connect to BT test socket I get nearer 3M.

All internal sockets in house have Tesco ADSL filters.

Does anyone know why my speed slows so much?

I have checked all connections and even re-connected all sockets to make sure they are wored correctly.

test again in the test socket. If this is running higher then you can remove all phones except the adsl router. If this is still slower then remove the bell wire and retest. If still slower then you need someone in to check the house wiring.

When I removed he bell wire it moved up a bit and then took a few days to stabalise.

I tried removing the bell wire today but found that the download speed actually dropped to 832kbps from the previous 1.5M.

I have checked all the phone points in the house and all are wired up correctly.

Have you turned the router off and on again after fiddling with the wiring?

Yes I had to reset it anyway when I removed the bell wire from the msin fsceplate.

I also read that you sometimes had to remove the bell wire from all sockets, so I tried this too but could only get max 832kbps instead of the 1.5M I get if bell wire is connected.

Can you post the stats? Both with and without bell wire.

Suggestion is that sometihng is not right with the wiring

Is it just the connection speeds (uplink and downlink) for each scenario you would require?
