What speed should i be getting from sky llu max when i am 2km by road from the exchange but with an attenuation of 39db?

It's easier if you provide full stats, so whether you have an ADSL 1 or ADSL2 connection, your current sync speed, attenuation and noise margin.

My stats aren't hugely different to yours:
Downstream: 8174kbps, 41.0dB Attenuation, 4.4dB Noise Margin
Upstream: 1101kbps, 21.6dB Attenuation, 7.8dB Noise Margin
So I would guess you should get around 8-10 Mbps assuming Sky get you on the right profile.

Better but still low, I can get that sync on a line that is 46dB attenuation
Sky DLM may have capped you, it has a tendency to favour stability over speed

Just to add to the talk on Sky broadband download speeds.
I have been having discussions with Sky kelp desk in Ireland who are trying to tell me that my connection is good and nothing wrong with the line.
6 months ago I was getting around 9Mb down load day and night, Upload was and is a constant 750kbps.
My stats are.
Sync. 11151kbps Down : 945kbps up
Attenuation 35.5dB Down : 21.3dB up
Noise Margin 6.9db Down : 12.5dB up
I have the full Sky package - TV : Telephone & Unlimited Broadband.
Daytime Download is around 7to 8Mb ; After 6pm in the evening it varies between 765kbps and 1.8Mb
Upload speed never varies, always 750kbps
Any thoughts on this would be welcomed,

I'd expect 10Mb out of that line.
I get 6656kbps @ 50db with a faceplate filter.
Tried the test socket behind the main BT socket?

Hi Wolfsmad,
Yes I have tried connecting to the test socket which makes no difference.
I BT termination point has a dual ADSL and phone face place plate.
What I don't understand is Sky say the do not do traffic management on the Unlimited package,
yet I am constantly getting less than 1Mb in the evenings, and my home page can take over 2 minutes to load.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Sky may not traffic manage, but that is not the same as saying they provide a congestion free service.
In short the 100 Meg or 1000 Meg your data leaves the exchange on, is shared with all the other Sky customers, and if they are doing a lot you end up fighting for space.
