using sky for working from home

Looking to change jobs, so will be working 2-3 days from home. What is the current stance using sky bb for this type of usage.

"2. Using Sky Broadband

(a) Sky Broadband is for private use by you and members of your household only. It must not be used for any activities not reasonably expected of someone using Sky Broadband for domestic purposes."

So as i think this is reasonable and normal, so i am ok and covered. Thoughts?

I think dialling into work over VPN for example has always been acceptable residential use.

Running a business from home, such as a web-based shop hosted on your Sky broadband has been a bit questionable.

Yes its using vpn for work. The last time i looked the terms stated no commercial activity (debate at that time was no vpn), but now its changed, so looks like there is no longer any problem.

They wont question it don't worry.

I've been working from home via VPN for years on and off with, initially with Sky Broadband Unlimited and Sky Fibre when it became available. At one point I did have another fibre connection provided by my employer but it was removed earlier this year because the decided I didn't work from home enough anymore.

One caveat though, if you lose your broadband service, Sky's standard terms is up to 72 hours for resolution compared to a business service that is typically 4-6 hours.

Oh dear perhaps my free public hotspot is in breach of this term?

Unless you are sending hundreds of emails a minute, via their email service, I don't see what issue Sky would have.

I'm sure some home users will be downloading 24/7 as the service is unlimited. So someone working from home will only be using it 10/5.

We've had no issue with sky and business since they took over the be line.
