Sky LLU Broadband Speeds

I normally have great Sky Broadband Speeds(LLU line) Unlimited Broadband

As i live a very short distance from my exchange my router syncs at 23198 kbps and my actual download spped is not far behind.

Lately though the afternoon download speed ,tested using speednet is closer to 6 MEG and the ping is nearer a 100 than the usual 35 (the router sync speed remains good)

By 6.15 p.m things are back to normal.

This affects my sons internet gaming,and he says Sky are throttling the speed.

Is this the case or are there now to many users signed up for our exchange?

If the connection speeds and stats shown by the router are changing it points to a noise source.

Heating boiler on between 3pm and 6pm maybe?

It happens to me too.

In fact reading this I looked at the speed and I was less that 5MB.

Disconnected and connected and now I'm at 18.32Mbps, not the best (21Mbps) but better than I had.

My Router alway snycs at almost 24 Meg (the max for my LLU)

If i do a speed test at 5 pm the results are poor,do it at 6.15p.m and all evening and next morning I get max speeds.

The problem is surely either throttling by Sky or too much contention at my exchange.

Any one else on Sky LLU been experiencing the same.

There is no problems at my house end.

If the noise margin is stable them probably not noise.

As can monitoring latency.
