How long does it take for the exchange to start accepting orders

That's one of those "how long is a piece of string?" questions. It varies from weeks to months and in some areas there have been cabinets stood for over two years and still not live.

In my parent's village the first cab was stood on the 3rd Feb this year and was accepting orders on the 9th March whereas I had to wait nearly 6 months before I could order.

Another thing is Sky need to have a GEA-Cablelink installed to connect their kit to the Openreach fibre kit at the exchange before they will take orders. For the most part they are pretty good at getting that sort prior of cabinets going live but it has been known for there to be delays.

if you have seen work around your existing green box adding another, then 2-3 mths, if not then 6-9 months, so if all goes well, you will have this done for Christmas.

We have all had to wait for the connection to happen. I had to wait the 9mths until my cabinet was done and if I was not no 1 to be connected I was number 2..

Ordered sky fibre last week my sky hub arrives in 3/5 working days was wondering if it will work with my Broadband Unlimited fibre doesn't start till the 23rd of April

if your existing BB provider is sky, then my one did work

* I had sky adsl2+
* ordered Sky fibre
* received new router
* Installed new router, plugged into the master socket, to make sky adsl2+ work
* Fibre installed, with separate BT modem unit (engineer install)
* Connected new sky router WAN cable into router to make FTTC work.

I understand the new sky routers for fttc plug directly into the telephone socket and work for adsl/fttc no matter what the signal, so should just work.

Sky Hub SR102 can do both ADSL and VDSL (fibre). They're black in colour.

Was hoping for better

I think the download is probably being limited by the wireless connection. If you connect by Ethernet to the router you should see the full download speed.

Changed wireless channel and got this
