Fibre - Traffic Management?

From what I can see, Sky Fiber is advertised as free of traffic management...

"Our Fibre broadband product is not subject to any traffic management, this means that we won�t slow you down at any time regardless of how much you upload or download. Sky Fibre is subject to Usage Management."

However, if I run an Acestream (uses p2p technology) then there is buffering and the picture cuts out. But, if I use a VPN (currently using tunnelbear) then it is perfect.

Anyone else experienced similar?

Could be as simple as different routing from Sky than from your VPN provider.

If you are using a paid for option on TunnelBear, I trust you paid them in honey instead of cash?

TunnelBear accepts Honey as payment.

It won't be due to traffic management as sky don't have any.

Must just be that the VPN has better routing in this case.

Yes, I've seen issues with Facebook at my mate's house (Sky ADSL) where the mobile app on my phone won't update, but if I use any VPN it does. Odd routing is all I could put it down to.

I get high latency with facebook whoever the ISP. Due to Facebook routing through the US. Use Tunnelbear but not checked via that route.

I guess facebook haven't got a UK or Europe data centre, unlike Google. Most of their stuff is rapid especially on mobile, and I can update on a 2G signal (vodafone or EE) or 3G (Vodafone or EE) easily, and on EE 4G its fast - but on my mate's sky ADSL its very slow. My Plusnet VDSL is fine.

Haven't been on sky for a year or so, but it used to be pretty rapid to update Facebook. Never had any issues in the 5+ years I was with sky. I cannot comment on today, as I do not have a sky connection in my home now.

It could be a lot of things, perhaps even their router being problematic / old / poorly configured.

Your IPv6 is working! More seriously it seems www.facebook.com is local and facebook.com is in the US - maybe without the WWW's you get the USA and it redirects back in the browser.

But my original comments were about iOS and Android apps and I have no idea what site they access, I haven't bothered to investigate. On my mate's Sky ADSL the apps are always slow to refresh and often don't load pictures/video. The website on a laptop works fine.
