New to Sky Fibre ?

Not due to be activated until 4th March but they have sent the new Sky Q hub already,its got the Wi/fi stuff on it and the name and the wireless code but no sign of any login details or password...Confused or what?

They don't tell you the broadband userid and password. you have to use an app to get them.

The password to access the hub is admin/sky

So its just plug it in and away you go then? Most routers i have owned which are mostly Netgear always require the ISP user name/password in the settings,i guess its preset then.

Any reason why they don't give you your username and password......

But whats the Sky Hub ip address so you can login to the Sky Hub.

Same as netgear router so i just saw on Youtube......192.168.0.1

I think the main reason is so you can't use a different router.

All routers from major ISPs are plug and play nowadays. BT, Sky, TalkTalk, Virginmedia. Plug em in and away you go.

Is the new Sky router dual band - if so about time?! They lost me as a customer over their terrible old hub.

You could just use your own like I do.

it comes preconfigured for the authentication process, which is dhcp not the usual pppoe, so yeah just plug it in and it should go online by itself.

Yes, I had my own router. My setup was Sky Hub - Ethernet - Own router. Ultimately the Sky Hub kept falling over though, even with my own router it kept rebooting itself...

I have 30+ devices online in my house, it could not hack it.

I didn't want to mess around getting a router that supported fibre connection and MER, spending a fortune. HomeHub and virginmedia superhub handle it just fine.

Probably doesn't help that my house is always relatively warm.

I think I used the Sky Hub for about an hour before grabbing the credentials and setting up the HG612.
