IPV6 Rollout

Sky has now switched my IP addresses to the IPV6 protocol.

The format is 8 blocks, 2a02:c7d:3b74 etc.

It may make a difference to those that have Android tablets or phones connected via wi-fi to the Sky router.

What router and firmware are you on? Last time I checked my relative's SR102, it was still on non-IPv6 firmware.

Thanks. I know Sky were rolling back IPv6 firmware on the SR102 due to issues some time ago but I don't know if/when they resumed. Also Sky don't seem to update their latest firmware version page very often.

My mate with an older Sagem router on Sky ADSL has IPv6 on his local network, but not on the WAN side, so his laptop and phone have IPv6 addresses but you can't connect to anything on the internet with IPv6 yet.

I just checked, same situation for my relative, their firmware has updated within the last couple of weeks. Windows reports an "IPv6 address" (not link-local) but it appears to be a ULA and not internet routable. Also, the SR102 status page reports Global IPv6 Address as blank.

One can disable LAN TCP/IPv6 by unticking
'Enable IPV6 on LAN side'.

Definitely stopped the intermittent wi-fi connectivity behaviour on a tablet with Android 5.1 Lollipop when using the apps Google Now and Chrome.

LAN side IPv6 isn't causing an issue as far as I'm aware, because that IPv6 range should be marked as local only.

Now that you have a global IPv6 address presumably the IPv6 address (not link-local) in Windows is a global one now and not a ULA?
