New Sky Q router

Hi all

Got sky to send me the new Q router still not as good as my old Netgear N600 had for years can anyone tell me how to get the Fibre username and password from the router so I can use my own please did it on sky's old one

Tryed it, I moved from broadband to fibre so thinking it all changed!?

It's hidden and you shouldn't use a third party router on Sky Fibre. Sky Rules.

Not tried it myself as I haven't got Sky, but I understand if you Google "sky router wireshark" there is a Youtube video is near the top of the list as well as many sites explaining how its done. Wireshark can be downloaded from https://www.wireshark.org/download.html.

Does the Netgear N600 support VDSL or MER?

It's unlikely to support either.

The Sky Hub is technically much better than the N600 from a wifi perspective... Range wise it might not be as good I suppose, but all modern devices will have similar range.

What issues are you having?

When I was with talktalk std broadband I used my Netgear and used to get full speed weather on lab or wifi connection but when using sky on std broadband using there router I found was connection was 16.5 ish on router but could only get 12.5 at best, so upgraded to sky fiber with Q router found same problem router sayes I get 40meg but getting 29ish on wifi and 32ish on lan so why the massive lost in speed with sky and not on talktalk?

Have you split the 2.4 and 5ghz bands?

Can your device support 5ghz?
